Self-portrait. The repetition and fragmentation of the body in various positions from different photographs and placed in a weave-like pattern can be seen as a variety of shards that when placed together, make up my personality. I’m a daughter, sister, cousin, friend, and godmother. I’m a Latina, student, employee, neighbor, and they’re all aspects that make up who I am. They’re parts that are not mutually exclusive, not always at the forefront or applicable at the same time but nevertheless are always present. The physical composition of this self-portrait represents the metaphorical amalgamation of parts that we are always adding to as we grow and change through our lifetime.
